I totally agree with Seyeko, you have the idea but you just need to accomplish it, you should try some pentool tutorials m8.

oh, in the render, there is a a paint job, and it is based on flames. on the wrist, i went over it with the pen tool.

Agreed, but are you sure you used the pentool, because i am certain that is just a soft round brush used to draw those lines. Also the random bunch of lines really spoils it, and TBH, blue is not really an ideal colour for this tag. Kiu mate.

To be honest, I think it's a bit to much. If you just kept it around Optimus I think it would look better. But that is just my opinion otherwise keep it up.

What I believe you did was use the "Freeform Pen Tool" instead of the "Pen Tool". Try using the Pen Tool for way smoother lines.

If you did use the Pen Tool then I agree with the above comments, look up some tutorials. lol Specifically YouTube tutorials.

Well they just mean, that the lines look as if you drew them by hand (like shaky and stuff)

and with the right techniques you could get the lines way clearer and more flow'ish

 

also i agree that blue doesn't fit Try and do it with a yellow like color!

It might also be better if you erased the lines on the other bots

For the part where you used the pentool over the flame, it should be in a different color than the actual pentool. I also agree that Optimus should be the only one with blue lines around him. If you like having all the bots with lines, maybe use different colors?

 

I think you can make the blue work, as long as you use the right blending options on it. And making the lines a tad thicker. If you did a white inner glow from the center, and a lighter blue outer glow you could achieve the look you're going for m8! I did a similar pic like this one (link), if you'd like I can send you the PSD so you can take a look at the settings I used? For the actual pentool work though, you'd have to visit a pentool tutorial, I deleted all the work paths from the PSD already :P
