BlackKnight0739 67 Posted February 10, 2013 I decided I wanted to learn how to build a guitar pretty recently, and a friend of mine can do laser etching. So I asked him if he'd put a design on my future guitar for me, and he said he would! When it came time to pick the design, I found out he doesn't usually do preset designs like I thought (he owns a company that etches iPhones and iPads and the like for businesses) People submit the designs to him and he puts it on the guitar! I was STOKED!!!! Not only is my new guitar going to be custom etched, I get to design the images AND build the guitar myself! Anyway, here's the design I submitted to him: Credit for the koi themselves go to Iori for uploading the KOI pack in the vector resources section. Thank you so much for that!!! It inspired this design!!! I took the images in that pack and turned a lot of them into brushes for this project! Once I get the guitar etched (possibly stained too, we'll have to see) and built, I'll definitely post pics of the finished product :>.<:> Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

BlackKnight0739 67 Posted March 26, 2013 I don't normally dig up old threads, but I thought I'd give an update for the guitar. Instead of laser etching we decided to go for a printed design because it turns out the laser can't do shading :P It's a good thing I turned over some black and white images lol! Anyway, they finished printing it and it's back on its way to my house now. But they sent me a tearsheet so I can see how it came out: I blurred the company's name so I don't get into any trouble with advertising. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

BlackKnight0739 67 Posted March 27, 2013 My goal is to have it finished by the end of April, but that's including getting a full set-up & intonation, pulling off all the other modifications I want to do, and everything.
