Kliddy 104 Posted March 13, 2013 Oh wow Mikey good job For the buttons I would use a softer gradient. Instead of it going from green to white right away. Have it look like it's easing in from the green to the white. Make it look smooth. Make sure you also keep the bottom local nav (where the links are) and the right side side text are in line. It appears the local nav is a couple pixels more upward than the copyright. And the main links like Home, about, portfolio, contact, I would erase the pattern behind them, it makes it a little hard to read. I absolutely love the colors and I like how well balanced this piece is. Normally people will have like 3 or 4 things on one side and 1 thing on the other. Lustre 108 Posted March 13, 2013 The top is a little rough and needs a lot of work. The fact that the pattern just stops at either end is distracting, either fade it out or tile it across completely. The navigation buttons are decent, but I'd consider removing the box effect over the currently active one, and stick to a subtler effect. I'm guessing more will be said under "Welcome"? If not, consider removing it completely and having your feature box wider. The gap at the bottom of the feature box is too close to the white of your content area, and creates unnecessary tension. Always make sure your borders are the same width (especially since top, left and right are all the same). I've never been a fan of highly contrasting white content areas with dark backgrounds, but you've tied it in with the blue gradient. Not sure the top divider is necessary, you could easily push up you Tips & Tricks, Resources, Friends a little. Second section has nice spacing though, and at least you have uniform space between each section. The buttons leave much to be desired, and the text is difficult to read.
