Like the fire effects but could do with some adjustments to blend the fire fighter in more kiu

Yeah I agree with him, also I think the text needs a lot of work, i understand thats not the point of the piece but maybe if you just make it smaller in cursive like its you signing it i think it will look better

I would make his back darker, but on his left side, have a little bit of light so it shows the brightness of the flames are facing him so it's not just dark. But the lighting doesn't fit well on him yet. But it will! I 

 

I would also get rid of the drop shadow around him. I understand you wanted to make it easier to see the fireman against the flames, but it doesn't look realistically correct.

I agree it looks very weird... not sure if it's actually a drop shadow, looks more like the stock wasn't cut out properly. Maybe edges were erased with a soft eraser or something? I used to get that problem all the time before I started using pen tool. Also the head of the axe looks a bit transparent for some reason :/

 

The composition looks nice though
