daillestbeast 19 Posted January 9, 2014 Very good for a first manip! They're not easy :3 One thing is just like with tags you need to be aware of the light and shadow. There should be a shadow somewhere for the floating island. Also the waterfall in the back looks like it's landing in midair and floating instead of landing someone on the land. I think the shadow might help with that too.
Maniak_uk 5,063 Posted January 9, 2014 Not bad for your first but need to remember your shadows and i would have made the whole sky grey and had the lightening coming from the top the piece on to the castle as looks like its coming from the castle and would have used some water brushes to make the water look more natural kai
 Awards

Charon 73 Posted January 9, 2014 As others said, lighting plays a big role. I would also suggest looking at actual reference photos for what you want to accomplish. The lightning for example, does not look like lightning at all. Lightning is a lot more jaggy in it's patern, yours is too smooth. The sky could also use some work in it's realism. Sure it's fantasy, but you want to make it believable and you wouldn't just see a small bunch of dark clouds in the middle of a blue sky, make the darkness fade better to the blue sky. It just needs to blend a little better. Something closer to this: http://pics4.city-data.com/cpicc/cfiles4167.jpg Even though it's fantasy, try to keep a hint of realism in there, that's what sells it.
