Daedal 13 Posted March 2, 2014 Man, I can't wait to learn more about brush control. These get turned in this week. The apple is my first digital painting and the Gorillaz GCT 151 (my course number) is my first real attempt with the pen tool. The Gorillaz one was supposed to be just a flat coloring but I started to play around with strokes and brushes. Now its off to do my movie poster for turn in this week. I get to mess around with live trace on that one. So much to do for mid terms. Painted in Illustrator: For learning purposes only:

GOvectorZ 970 Posted March 2, 2014 Got an awesome start there m8y If you can't find a brush that has all the stroke you'd like, then try modifying it usinf the width tool (SHIFT&W) at the points you wana change. If you wana try free hand brush (more like a pen than a brush), then try the lovely Blob brush (great for details - SHIFT & B). Mind if you need any pointers just gimme a shout m8y

Daedal 13 Posted March 2, 2014 Thanks Jimmy. My hat's off to you guys and gals because this is really tedious work. I know that with patience and practice it will get easier. I just got to put the time into it. Now, I would really like to try freehand stroking and the info you posted is going to be helpful big time. Every accent stroke was penned thus the most tedious for me because I had to change the stroke setting every time. There's probably a work around. This is where freehanding will be most beneficial to me. I'll have to break out the tablet and try.
