Cool composite... i like the concept!

 

I think it needs a light source "rays of light" coming from above, aka light from heaven if you will.

 

And i think i would have used a selection tool to outline the crystal then used layer styles (inner shadow, outter glow, inner glow, ect) to create the lighting effect rather than just a soft brush.
