The Tales of Moonaria #1

He had just turned fifty.

Thirty three years on the same day he had gotten a gift from his grandfather. It was just an old book, it had yellow pages even then. "Who wants a book for his birthday", he thought. He said thanks but disappointment was obvious.

Grandpa looked at him, his look suddenly got serious. He opened his mouth but he stood there quiet for a moment. "This book", he said... "This book you'll read when you are my age and pass it on to your grandson before you go".

"Go where", he thought... He made a promise to do exactly what he's been told. That was the last time he saw his grandfather.

Half a century has passed and the time has finally come. He cleaned dust from the book and made himself cozy. It was pure science-fiction. Book was interesting enough for him to read it in one day, it described a parallel world with minor exceptions. People there don't age. They live happily ever after.

"Why did he make me wait until I turn fifty to read this fairytale", Tom thought somewhere in the middle of the book...

"You're about to experience something magical. Maple road, at midnight. Come alone.", those were the last written words.

He had turned on his car and started driving. Once he was there he could notice the unusual door in the distance. He stepped on the brake and left the car engine on. He had a feeling he wasn't coming back. He turned around briefly and looked at his car lights and town in the distance. "Farewell", he said and continued walking towards the unknown.

Love the whole concept of telling the story and building it up to the piece of accompanying art work. Did you write the short story 1st and get the idea for the art after or vice versa?

The piece it self in general ties to the theme well but still seems unfinished, and IMO, needs a little 'selling' in terms of the fantasy/ magical aspect the story provokes in me when I read it. The sky and planet look good but think the Fg and middle ground around the character needs some more fx, tying into what's beyond???

Overall really cool effort, love to see more of these :)

Writings not bad apart from "gotten" Looking forward to the next page :<img src=:'>

Agrees that more effects are needed on the artwork and not feeling the border but a really good start.

Interesting and creatrive
