Dragon's Lair

God Gohan

So I've worked on my lighting, and shadows in this one. I'm still working on photo-manipulation, and I'll be working on this theme for weeks to come. I just love working on fantasy, and manipulation.

Any feedback would be helpful so I can improve on my next  project. :<img src=:'>

Stock selection is definitely much better and cleaner looking in this one. Lighting is also a little better  and I can see effort in getting objects in similar light, remember though where there is light there is shadow cast, ie on the ships you have the light hitting the right side, which means the left side should cast some shadows particularly near the hulls of the ships as they are solid It still feels and looks  like renders on a BG.

It starts to fall away a bit under water though, the deeper you go in the water the darker the water gets, also the dragon would also take on similar tones to green/blue of the water and have shadow as well.

Also think about setting the tone of the scene, on one hand you have a sea battle happening but the overall scene looks rather calm and peaceful ???

Think adding mood, what comes to mind when you thing of battles at sea ?

fog of war, explosions, debris flying through the air, raging seas and storms etc

Better effort on this one though :<img src=:'> KAI

I'm thankful for the wonderful feedback. Without your help I would've made what I made now. I can see the changes I should work on. I might work on making the scene fit what's going in the overall picture. :)

Not bad start but agree on the ships just floating rather than actually blending in to the sea ,it might be useful for you to get yourself a ton of brushes ,like water, clouds etc so can use these to blend your elements in to the environment more :<img src=:'> kai

We are a group of friends with a passion for art and a need to help others by sharing. The site started with just the four and in a short while grew to a community of over 4000 members. Everyone is welcome here, from complete beginners to all out professionals. We have something for everyone. Our aim is to give everyone with the "bug" a place to learn, make friends and share their passion.
