These are vectors (typically made in illustrator) I personally do it the hard way on photoshop because thats how i learned it way back and haven't switched over. But they're made by creating shapes using the pentool and layering them. Similar to how you make your emblem in call of duty for non digital artists reading this. These are like big tags.
