Amarú 1 Posted August 27, 2011 Hey all! Contrary to the jungle mural I posted in the wacom section, this is another mural I did, a bit smaller. Approximately 16 x 10 feet therefore the image you will see is also a thumbnail at 30 dpi. I'd just like to make a note that I hope none of you ever have to work with such big dimensions on photoshop because even on a monster computer like the one I was using at work (i7 processor, 16 gigs of ram, 1 tb memory etc) it still lags and takes foreverrrrrr! This was more of a matte painting than a digipaint though, however, some digi paint techniques were involved. This was also a collab. My employer for this at the time requested that one of his employees get to add 3d elements to it. The only things I did not do in this mural is the castle and the little planes. Had I done the castle, I would have probably used something with a similar feel to the white castle in Tim Burton's recent Alice in wonderland C&C encouraged!! Mikey 1,238 1 Item Posted August 27, 2011 That's just amazing. I can't really say anything else about it. Just awesome work.
 Awards
Maniak_uk 5,063 Posted August 28, 2011 Well great concept ,but the walk way seems to just end before actually getting to the castle and could be moved a touch to the left inline with the castle door, but otherwise nice
 Awards
Amarú 1 Posted August 28, 2011 unfortunately, I couldn't do a perfect integration to the size of the walkway to the castle door as I didn't create the castle. I'd for you to circle where you think the walkway ended too short though, maybe I'm missing something :P. I know there is a piece of cloud sitting on the walkway, but If I missed a part, it'd be to my benefit to see where! Thanks for the C&C I'd love to hear more comments!! cliffbuck 472 Posted August 28, 2011 looks good and can see your point about the clouds covering the walkway my point would be is where are all the line shadows coming from on it
 Awards

xpress 0 Posted August 28, 2011 Great piece as usual. Love the attention to detail. The reflection of the walkway is awesome!!
Amarú 1 Posted August 28, 2011 @cliffbuck, just a litle confused to which line shadows you're referring to (: Thanks guys! Other comments?!
cliffbuck 472 Posted August 28, 2011 the ones that run diagonal across the whole length of the walkway on left side, just looked again on my computer not my netbook and they are the struts of the bridge it looks like it has a sheet of glass placed over the walkway and is supposed to be solid, hence the relections
 Awards
Amarú 1 Posted August 28, 2011 Haha yeahh. The solid bars are under the glass not reflected. The glass is see through so you can see the support bars. The only reflections are the ones of the clouds happening on top of the glass.

Lin 41 Posted August 30, 2011 very nice work. I like the looks of the clouds on the right side!! KIU
Amarú 1 Posted August 30, 2011 Thanks The goal was to play a contrast from warm and light with the sun on the right to cool and dark on the right. I also wanted to keep the feel that the castle was superior therefore above everything, as well as to make it obviously in the sky so there are many low clouds and few big clouds. Any big clouds are surrounding/holding up the castle
